I’m currently working at WAX Partnership in Calgary. One of our clients, Shaw CableSystems is using a new fresh look – a new fun way to represent the brand. At the shop, we simply refer to it as “bubble type”.

Not sure if you’ve seen it, but the new look and feel was launched just a few months back. Where am I going with this? Well, Australia, if you must know. Because that’s where young Jonathan Jungwirth, art director to the stars and Shaw Cablesystems, currently calls home. In late June, Jonathan nonchalantly told me he’s leaving WAX to go travel. I said cool. He said yep it should be. I said is that why you’ve been selling all the stuff from your house? He said you betcha. I said is that why you gave away your collectible Dodge Viper toy cars? He said you’re catching on. I said I’m quite the sleuth. He asked me to pronounce that again. I said that. He said nice. I said the girls in Australia will like you accent. He said they better. I said they will. He said how you so sure? I said I wasn’t. He said oh. I said I’m gonna miss you man. He said you’re gonna hug me now aren’t you? I said long and hard. He said that’s what she said. Then we hugged. And then he left.

Below is Jonathan’s last art directional effort at WAX. For various reasons, I advised Jonathan to end strong. He didn’t let me down.

The moral of this post? This resignation letter is too awesome.
